Registration Deadline One Month Away for Summer Weapons Retreat 4

We have some very exciting things coming up at this year’s retreat, including training with a variety of shield types, short spear, and long sword.  The theme is Avalon, so don’t miss out on all of the awesome quests at our new location, the Emrich Retreat Center in Brighton Michigan.  Register for the full 5 days (July 11-15), per day, and/or for evenings.  The deadline is June 11th, 2012.  Contact Heather at heather@polarisfellowship.com for more information.

Winter Fire Retreat – January 28

In the depths of winter, we will nourish the fire within! The day we will include weapons related workshops, mini-lessons, and both melee and bear pit sparring. In the morning we will meet at Steppingstone School (30250 Grand River, Farmington Hills, Mi 48336). In the evening we will move to Wellspring for stew and potluck, a fire in the fireplace, time to hang out, and a movie. $35.00 tuition includes instruction, lunch, and stew. Summer Weapons Retreat 4!

We are excited to announce the theme for the Summer Weapons Retreat 4 will be Avalon!

Like with last year’s viking theme, we will draw on both historical and legendary aspects of the tales of Arthur, Merlin, the Lady of the Lake, and the knights good and true, to focus and inspire the weapons training, tactical exercises, and personal development activities of the retreat.

Summer Weapons Retreat 4 will take place July 11-15, 2012, at our exciting new location, the Emrich Retreat Center in Brighton, Michigan.  The Emrich center provides us with air conditioned cabins and indoor training space, private bathrooms and showers in addition to a bathhouse, and 26 acres of fields and woods that border a 5000 acre state park!  You can check them out at www.discoveremrich.org.

We are currently accepting early registrations!  The early bird price is only available through February 2, 2012, so start making plans now and register soon. Our fall adult schedule is listed below. We hope you will all join us at our new location in Farmington Hills at Steppingstone School (30250 Grand River, Farmington Hills, MI  48336).

Mondays and Wednesdays 7-9pm – Adult Liberarae Class – All Levels

Fridays 7-9pm* – Adult Liberarae Class – Black Belts

1st and 3rd Fridays of the month 8-10pm – Open Practice

2nd Saturday of the month – Special Events

We’ve Moved!

Polaris Fellowship of Weapons Study is proud to announce our new location in Farmington Hills at the Steppingstone School for Gifted Education.  All adult classes will begin meeting at our new location effective Wednesday, September 7.  Our new facility will provide a comfortable environment year round as well as state of the art media access for classroom enrichment. We are very excited to be moving to Steppingstone School and hope that you will join us for fall classes.

Congratulations Black Belts!

Polaris would like to congratulate its newest black belts, Rose Massey and Douglas Tobin!  As the result of extensive dedication, focus, and skill, the two were able to accomplish the extensive requirements for black belts.  They received their belts at our recent belt ceremony, and we welcome them into the role of leadership that black belts serve in our community!
